Each year, students in the 7th and 8th grades who have exhibited an excellent academic record have the opportunity to travel outside of the United States to practice the foreign language learned in class, Spanish or French, through our annual Schuyler International Trip during the Spring Break vacation.

For over 20 years, students have gotten the opportunity to experience the global classroom first-hand and see what they have been studying in their textbooks come to life. Participants have traveled to Canada, Europe, Puerto Rico, and Central America to get an up close, real life view of historical places and natural environments students have learned about in Social Studies and Science classes. Whether it be seeing a 99-year old alligator on the Rio Tarcoles in Costa Rica, visiting the Mezquita in Seville, Spain, walking through the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles in France, or touring Old Quebec City in Canada, our students are exposed to a variety of cultures, languages, history, food and more.

Through our journeys abroad, our Schuyler students have had the opportunity to put into practice the skills that they’ve acquired in the classroom. Such life-changing opportunities give our students new perspectives of themselves, the people around them and also prepare them for future interaction and success in the academic and work world.
