Intermediate Repertory is an intermediate level major dance class. This class differs from the others because it is the only major dance class that has the opportunity to perform may different dance styles such as Jazz dance, Modern dance, African dance and Tap dance. The students spend a school year learning at least two different dance styles. The class uses different styles of music that also helps in the creativity and performance of movements. Students will also learn dance improvisation, dance terminology, dance history, dance making skills, anatomy and use of the muscles, dance literacy, nutrition, dance projects and performance tasks.

The instructors for this course are not only educators, but also artists, that believe students can experience education beyond the classroom through dance. They strive to engage students in a life affecting experience that increases cultural competencies, embraces community, emanates wellness, and ignites a passion for lifelong learning.

In order to be enrolled in this course, most students audition in the 5th, 6th, or 7th grades.

This class performs in both the Winter and Spring Concerts.
