Urban dance is a celebration of African and Latino American heritage through dance. Students will learn original hip-hop dance forms, salsa, meringue, and other Latin American dance styles. Essentially, these dance forms will promote teamwork and analytical/critical thinking skills.

The instructors are not only educators, but also artists, that believe students can experience education beyond the classroom through dance. They strive to engage students in a life affecting experience that increases cultural competencies, embraces community, emanates wellness, and ignites a passion for lifelong learning.

In order to be enrolled in this course, most students audition in the 5th, 6th, or 7th grades.

This class performs in both the Winter and Spring concerts.
