Students’ schedules include:
- Social Studies
- Foreign Language
- 2 elective classes
- 1 elective if enrolled in Regents courses
Grade 8 students have individualized programs based on academic performance and student preferences. Students are eligible to take regents courses in Math and Science. Eighth grade students also take a foreign language proficiency exam at the end of the school year for possible high school credit.
There are five (5) marking periods for the school year, with four (4) separate report card distributions – fall, winter, spring, and the last day of school. The fifth marking period is provided with the fourth marking period grades as an average of each student’s academic performance throughout the entire year.
